Adult Safe Environment Awareness Sessions

Safe Environment Sessions During Current Coronavirus Precautions and Safeguards

In placing the safety of our faithful and community first and in keeping with state, county and local guidelines for safety and social distancing, the Office of Safe Environment is offering remotely facilitated adult safe environment awareness sessions (Protecting God’s Children For Adults).

To participate in a Protecting God's Children Awareness Session, you will need a VIRTUS profile. You can create a profile by clicking the “I NEED A VIRTUS PROFILE” button below and click “Start Registration.”

Once you’ve created a Virtus profile, you must register for a session in order to receive the emailed session instructions.

If you already have a Virtus profile and wish to participate in a remote session, you must register for the session by clicking the “I HAVE A VIRTUS PROFILE” button below or logging onto VIRTUS at, click the Training tab, click Live Training (left side of the screen) and click Pre-register for an upcoming live training... The remote session location is listed as “Z_Other.”

An invitation and instructions with how to participate in the remote facilitation will be emailed to the address you provide in the VIRTUS profile. The invitation will include a link to the Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session. You may participate in the session using a computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection. Participants may download the Zoom app, but it is not necessary.

Students study in a classroom with male lecturer. Formerly called "Safe Environment Training."

Safe Environment Certification for Employees and Adult Volunteers is required prior to serving in Ministry and must be renewed every two years.

Initial or Renewal Safe Environment Certification currently requires attendance at a live and in person (“face-to-face”) Safe Environment Awareness Session (”Protecting God’s Children For Adults”) and requires a virtus profile.

No children / youth under the age of 18 are permitted to be in attendance at Protecting God’s Children for Adults® awareness sessions.
