Marian Dinner and Mass

Marian Dinner & Mass hosted by the Vocation’s Office for women age 15-45 discerning their vocation to Religious Life. The evening will begin with Mass at 6 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Fort Worth, followed by dinner and discussions with Sisters from different Religious Orders. This event is free but you must RSVP by May 25 to Kim Brown, Associate Director of Vocations at or 940-727-8028.

June 10-22, 2017

The St. John Paul II Institute offers a program of classes and workshops during June for all interested, whether or not they are registered with SJP2. The objectives of the Summer Cycle are to offer ministers the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills and to provide opportunity for SJP2 students to complete the basic requirements of their program.

SJP2 will hold its annual summer ministry conference from June 10-22. Lecture series speakers are Franciscan Fr. Albert Haase and Dominican Fr. Gerardo Guerra. Other events of the conference include Saturday ministry workshops. The public is cordially invited. There are no admission fees. For more information, contact Rev. Carmen Mele at or 817-945-9352.

Quo Vadis? Vocation Discernment Retreat

July 11-13, 2017

The Fort Worth Vocations Office is hosting the Discernment Retreat Quo Vadis from July 11 to July 13. Quo Vadis is a FREE vocation discernment retreat for High School Young Men to begin considering their vocation from God. The camp is a rare chance for High School young men to begin considering their vocation from God by speaking with priests and seminarians. It will be both physically and spiritually awesome. Parents are welcome to join for Mass and closing on July 13 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Space is limited to 20 with preference given to High School juniors and seniors.

Nun Run for High School Girls

August 1-4, 2017

The Fort Worth Vocations Office is hosting the 2nd Annual High School Girls Nun Run from August 1st - August 4th. This event is FREE and open to all girls who will be in high school during the 2017-2018 academic year who want to learn about the religious life, discerning their vocation to religious life, or simply want to be open to God’s will in their life.

The Nun Run will travel to different religious orders for a chance for the girls to pray, live, eat, and work with various religious communities. This year we will be with the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Kansas, Marian Sisters in Nebraska, and the Servants of Mary and Ministers of the Sick in Kansas. Space is limited to 20 High School girls.

St. Francis de Sales Catechist Formation Program

St. Francis De SalesThe aim of the St. Francis De Sales Basic Catechist Formation Program is to form catechists. A catechist is a person who desires to teach the Catholic faith and become an effective witness of the Gospel. The primary emphasis of this program is to form faithful catechists. Throughout this journey, catechists will become familiar with basic catechetical concepts; understand the role of the liturgy, the RCIA process, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, proper methodology, lesson planning, and so forth in the areas of catechesis and catechetical instruction.
