The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and the Obligation to Attend Mass

"Thus, after consultation with the other bishops of Texas and with other member bishops of the USCCB, I have decided for pastoral reasons to dispense the faithful of the Diocese of Fort Worth from the obligation to attend Mass on Monday, December 9, 2024, in celebration of the National Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception....Despite this dispensation, all of the faithful are encouraged to attend Mass on Monday, December 9, 2024, in keeping with the importance of this Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception in the life of the Church and especially in the United States of America."
