The Department of Catechesis invites all those involved in the ministries of RCIA and RCIA Adapted for Children to attend our annual RCIA Formation Day. Our central theme is The Period of Purification. The day will consist of keynote talks as well as a number of workshops in English and Spanish. Breakfast and lunch will be served. We are looking forward to this wonderful day of formation.

El Departamento de Catequesis invita a todos los involucrados en los ministerios de RICA y RICA Adaptados para Niños a asistir a nuestro Día de Formación de RICA. Nuestro tema principal es El Período de Purificación. El día consistirá en varios talleres educativos en inglés y español. Se servirá desayuno y almuerzo. Los esperamos para iniciar este día de formación.

Steve Greene, MA

Director, Kino Catechetical Institute, Diocese of PhoenixSteve Greene

Steve Greene is Director of Kino Catechetical Institute for the Diocese of Phoenix, and co-host, with his wife, Becky, of The Catholic Conversation radio show, podcasted on iTunes and SoundCloud. He also co-hosts the YouTube vlog What’s Wrong With the World?, with Fr. John Parks on the Diocese of Phoenix YouTube channel. A 1996 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Steve also holds a Master’s degree in Catholic Thought and Life from St. Meinrad School of Theology. In addition to teaching theology, philosophy, ethics and Catholic Studies for a variety of academic institutions, Steve has been presenting on Catholic philosophy, theology and catechetics for over 20 years. He has been featured on a variety of Catholic radio and television programs, as well as video and audio series, and has written articles for Crisis Magazine, Messenger of St. Anthony and The Catechetical Review. Steve also recorded the official audio version for Bishop Olmsted’s apostolic exhortations, Into the Breach and Complete My Joy. Most importantly he is a husband, and father to six wonderful children.

Mary Ann Wiesinger, MA

Catechetical Institute, Franciscan University,  Steubenville Mary Ann Wiesinger

Mary Ann Wiesinger has worked at the diocesan level for ten years in a wide range of capacities. She has served Directors of Religious Education, RCIA Leaders, helped develop and sustain the Catechist Certification programs, directed schools of formation, and worked in Evangelization. At every level, her interest in raising leaders and disciples has been at the forefront of her efforts. Raised in El Paso, Texas, Mary Ann is bilingual and bi-cultural. Throughout her professional career, she has worked hard to provide the same level of excellence in both English and Spanish formation programs. She enjoys teaching in both languages and finds mentoring catechetical/pastoral ministers to be especially fulfilling. Mary Ann has been blessed with the opportunity to speak at diocesan catechetical in-services, collaborate with Ascension Press and the Augustine Institute on instructional projects, and offer talks for parishes and various apostolates. Mary Ann enjoys reading, kayaking, and drinking Cuban coffee.
