Quo Vadis 2026

Friday, July 24, 2026

This retreat is for young men in high school within the Diocese of Fort Worth. Boys who graduate 8th grade in May/June 2026 and will be freshmen in the school year 2026-2027 are eligible to register. Young men who graduate high school in May/June 2026 are eligible to register.

While in years past, the Quo Vadis retreat has focused primarily on discernment to the priesthood, this years’ retreat will cover more specifically what it means to grow into a Catholic Man in today’s world. The retreat will involve talks from seminarians and priests, mass and adoration, as well as time for games and sports. Young men will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the following topics:

  • Learning to pray well.
  • Learning the importance of sacrifice, suffering and fortitude.
  • Growth in virtue and discipline.

For more than 50 years, Worldwide Marriage Encounter has helped over 3.5 million couples in almost 100 countries unlock the power of their relationships with new ways to do the “I do.” The Marriage Encounter experience helps you listen, share, and connect more deeply. There’s no group discussion. It’s just about the two of you learning to be the best, most loving and thriving couple you can be.

Stewardship

Stewardship at Your Parish

How do you have fun with your parishioners?

It’s summer and even though it might be 1000 degrees outside, this is the time to schedule some parish playtime! Take advantage of the slower parish schedule and use these next couple months as an opportunity to bring parishioners of all ages together—you might just end up creating some new traditions.

Here are some ideas:

  • Host a parish picnic. This does not necessarily need to be on acres of grass—utilize the parish hall and give your picnic a theme that can be created indoors, or set up tables and chairs outside and give the kiddos some water guns. The focus should be on inviting your folks to bring their favorite dish to share and socializing; in this case, simplicity is your friend!
  • Go to the ballpark. Whether its trekking to Arlington for the Rangers or catching their Double-A minor league team the RoughRiders in Frisco, there are many very affordable packages for nonprofits and churches.
  • BINGO!! Do you have parishioners who would love to come out on a Friday night to escape the heat? Schedule a summer bingo series. No need to invest in a costly metal cage or set up a complicated monitor; just purchase some packs of cards and bingo discs on Amazon. Serve popcorn and soda. Looking to change it up a bit? Play Loteria.
  • Plan an ice cream social. It may seem so simple but similar to hosting a picnic, you really only need tables and chairs and lots of ice cream.
  • Who says coffee and donuts are only for Sundays? Pick a daily Mass and offer coffee and donuts after, or if in the evening, partner it with that ice cream social you are now thinking about!
  • Have a night of the town! Late Night Catechism is coming to Dallas in September and is a wonderful opportunity to mix faith and (respectful) levity.

A simple search online will yield so many more ideas. Engagement events do not need to look like a Pinterest board or Insta-worthy; they just need to foster community.

As always, please reach out with any questions/comments: at 817-886-6607 (office) 626-643-9803 (cell).
