World Day of Prayer for Vocations, April 26
Resources for Parishes and Schools
The 63rd annual World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed on Sunday, April 26, 2026, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. This day is dedicated in a particular way to imploring from the Father the gift of holy vocations for the building up of his Kingdom: "Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest" (Lk 10:2, Mt 9:38). A vocation is a precious gift that God sows in our heart a call to leave ourselves behind and embark on a journey of love and service. It invites us to reflect on the precious gift of the Lord’s call to each of us, as members of his faithful pilgrim people, to participate in His loving plan and to embody the beauty of the Gospel in different states of life. Hearing that divine call, which is far from being an imposed duty - even in the name of a religious ideal - is the surest way for us to fulfil our deepest desire for happiness. The Church concentrates its attention this day on vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life, and secular institutes.
Please use the documents below for promoting World Day of Prayer for Vocations during Mass, in your catechetical programs, in your bulletin, Flocknote, Facebook page, newsletter, etc. several weeks in advance. If you need additional resources for promoting vocations in your parish or want to start a vocations committee in your parish, please visit https://fwdioc.org/parish-vocations-ministries or contact , VP Vocations for Fort Worth Serra Club. Additional resources for promoting vocations are available at: https://app.box.com/folder.

Advancement Foundation's Tax Season Campaign
Qualified Charitable Distributions
During this tax season, the Advancement Foundation wants to highlight smarter, more powerful ways to support your parish, Catholic school or the Diocese such as using stocks, IRA contributions, or Donor-Advised Funds to save on taxes and make an even larger impact on the causes you hold most dear.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) are ideal for older donors and one of the most powerful giving tools available for donors 70.5 and older, especially with the annual limit now at $111,000 per person. QCDs bypass the new 0.5% AGI floor and the charitable deduction cap, allowing donors who are 70.5 and older to move significantly more from their IRA to charity without increasing their taxable income. For donors subject to Required Minimum Distributions, a QCD can satisfy that requirement while directly lowering their AGI, which can also reduce Medicare premiums and taxable Social Security benefits.
Help your non-profit while helping yourself this tax season. Learn about the new rules at https://advancementfoundation.planmygift.org/2026-tax-law-changes

Stewardship at Your Parish
Have you visited the ICSC site?
International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC) has a library of recordings that likely can benefit your parish. Even if you are a seasoned Director of Stewardship or have a thriving Stewardship committee, there are discussions from both their “Vestibule” and “Coffee Talk" series that can at the very least give you a new or different perspective on common challenges associated with Stewardship. You can access these recordings here: https://catholicstewardship.com/, and then click on “Resources”.
ICSC also hosts a very educational and spiritually conference every year! The Advancement Foundation has limited scholarships for first time attendees; this is a hugely beneficial conference to attend if your parish is thinking of forming a stewardship committee or if your committee is feeling stuck.
Please reach out with any questions or if you would like more information on attending the annual ICSC conference: at 817-886-6607 (office) 626-643-9803 (cell).

Light of Christ Awards
Who at your parish is living out their baptismal call in an extraordinary way?
The Light of Christ Award nomination forms are now available! Recognizing an individual parishioner (or married couple) with the Light of Christ award gives a tangible and accessible model of living out the four pillars of Stewardship (prayer, formation, hospitality and service) to your parishioners. Your congregations may think that Stewardship is only about giving money (and this is a very common misconception!), but we all know that the usher who consistently show up for the early Masses, the catechist who has taught years of elementary formation, or the married couple who has partnered with countless engaged couples are the folks who are helping to build a sense of community and spreading the love of Christ in your parishes.
Award ceremonies are scheduled for (all events will start at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm):
- Thursday, June 18; Immaculate Conception Church, Denton
- Thursday, June 25; Our Lady Queen of Peace, Wichita Falls
- Thursday, July 2; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fort Worth
- Thursday, July 9; Our Lady of Lourdes, Mineral Wells
- Thursday, July 16; Our Lady of Mercy, Hillsboro
Paper applications have been mailed out to all parishes, however you may access the online application here: Light of Christ Nomination Form – Fill out form.
Please visit www.advancementfoundation.org/stewardship-awards for more information, or contact or call 817-886-6607 (office) or 626-643-9803 (cell).
