World Day of Prayer for Vocations, April 26
Resources for Parishes and Schools
The 63rd annual World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed on Sunday, April 26, 2026, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. This day is dedicated in a particular way to imploring from the Father the gift of holy vocations for the building up of his Kingdom: "Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest" (Lk 10:2, Mt 9:38). A vocation is a precious gift that God sows in our heart a call to leave ourselves behind and embark on a journey of love and service. It invites us to reflect on the precious gift of the Lord’s call to each of us, as members of his faithful pilgrim people, to participate in His loving plan and to embody the beauty of the Gospel in different states of life. Hearing that divine call, which is far from being an imposed duty - even in the name of a religious ideal - is the surest way for us to fulfil our deepest desire for happiness. The Church concentrates its attention this day on vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life, and secular institutes.
Please use the documents below for promoting World Day of Prayer for Vocations during Mass, in your catechetical programs, in your bulletin, Flocknote, Facebook page, newsletter, etc. several weeks in advance. If you need additional resources for promoting vocations in your parish or want to start a vocations committee in your parish, please visit https://fwdioc.org/parish-vocations-ministries or contact , VP Vocations for Fort Worth Serra Club. Additional resources for promoting vocations are available at: https://app.box.com/folder.

Lights, Catholic, Action! S2 Ep. 34: From Kid Filmmaker to Catholic Storyteller
In this episode, Tarleton University student Diego Campos shares how a childhood love of filmmaking grew into a powerful documentary capturing the real spiritual journeys of college students—and the surprising ways faith comes alive in the middle of campus life. Through creativity, loss, and deep friendships, he reveals how storytelling can become a mission of hope, showing that even in a culture drifting from faith, Christ is still transforming lives.

Advancement Foundation's Tax Season Campaign
Turn growth into greater giving
During this tax season, even if you don’t itemize, you may still benefit if you give appreciated stock or real estate by eliminating capital gains tax on the growth. For example, you purchased a piece of property for $100,000, now valued at $250,000. If you deed the property to your parish, Catholic school or the Advancement Foundation, you owe $0 in capital gains tax on the $150,000 of growth and the charity receives the full $250,000 value of the land.
In contrast, if you sell the property first, then donate the cash, you have a long-term capital gain of $150,000, and you owe approximately $35,700 in capital gains tax. After paying the IRS, you only have $214,300 left to give the charity.
Help your non-profit while helping yourself this tax season. Learn about the new rules at https://advancementfoundation.planmygift.org/2026-tax-law-changes or e-mailing , Advancement Foundation’s Director of Planned Giving or calling 940-736-3357.

Stewardship at Your Parish
How will you honor the mothers who won’t be with their children at your parish?
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and while many moms will be having brunch with their families, have you thought about the moms who might be living alone, or in nursing homes, and/or might not otherwise have their children with them? Perhaps you can schedule a hospitality hour after all Masses during Mother’s Day weekend, and extend a special invite to those moms who are alone. Or, your Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who serve the homebound can bring flowers (even a single carnation) to those ladies who they know are mothers. Finally, can you purchase or print a simple Mother’s Day card signed by the pastor, and mail it to moms who you know will not have company? This does not need to be a costly or labor-intensive task; rather, you will likely find that a very simple gesture will have tremendous meaning to the mom on the receiving end.
As always, please reach out with any questions/comments: at 817-886-6607 (office) 626-643-9803 (cell).

Light of Christ Awards
Nominations are due!!
Please be sure to submit your Light of Christ nominations by April 23! Recognizing an individual parishioner (or married couple) with the Light of Christ award gives a tangible and accessible model of living out the four pillars of Stewardship (prayer, formation, hospitality and service) to your parishioners. Your congregations may think that Stewardship is only about giving money (and this is a very common misconception!), but we all know that the usher who consistently show up for the early Masses, the catechist who has taught years of elementary formation, or the married couple who has partnered with countless engaged couples are the folks who are helping to build a sense of community and spreading the love of Christ in your parishes.
Award ceremonies are scheduled for (all events will start at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm):
- Thursday, June 18; Immaculate Conception Church, Denton
- Thursday, June 25; Our Lady Queen of Peace, Wichita Falls
- Thursday, July 2; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fort Worth
- Thursday, July 9; Our Lady of Lourdes, Mineral Wells
- Thursday, July 16; Our Lady of Mercy, Hillsboro
Paper applications have been mailed out to all parishes, however you may access the online application here: Light of Christ Nomination Form – Fill out form.
Please visit www.advancementfoundation.org/stewardship-awards for more information, or contact or call 817-886-6607 (office) or 626-643-9803 (cell).
