Priesthood

What is the priesthood? Simply, it is following Christ's example to serve his people. The priesthood serves in particular by bringing others to Christ through the sacraments. They can offer our prayers to God by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and lead us to communion with God through the Eucharist. They also visit the sick and dying, giving them hope and comfort in their time of need. They show the mercy and love of God in the Sacrament of Penance. "The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28)

God calls you to make definitive choices, and He has a plan for each of you: to discover that plan and to respond to your vocation is to move toward personal fulfilment.
