Hispanic Ministry Coordinator

St. Michael Parish, Bedford

St. Michael Catholic Church is seeking a full-time Hispanic Ministry Coordinator. This position works with the Director of Faith Formation to provide formation opportunities for adults in Spanish. This includes supervision of prayer, spiritual and ministry formation groups in Spanish/Bilingual, Spanish Baptism preparation and Quince Años preparation sessions and celebrations. This position is also responsible for working with parishioners and other staff, to coordinate the parish-wide Hispanic celebrations, such as Posadas and Our Lady of Guadalupe reception.

Ideal candidate is fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English, a great communicator, good organizer and works well in collaborative ministry. Primary duties include implementation and administration of Hispanic programs, in compliance with all Diocesan and parish guidelines. Communication liaison duties include translation of materials for the bulletin, stewardship directory and other parish communication. The Department of Catechesis of the Diocese of Fort Worth is seeking a Director of Children’s Catechesis.

The director of Children’s Catechesis implements and facilitates Bi-lingual programs of religious education formation in every parish from birth through preschool up to an intermediate level; oversees the formation of children in the Catholic Faith and the administration of all Sacramental Preparation Guidelines, Elementary Religious Education Guidelines, and RCIA for Children; provides Bi-lingual Catechetical training and up-to-date resources and formation for Directors and Coordinators of Religious Education and Catechists, and exercises the ability to foster the New Evangelization with the intent of forming intentional disciples using systematic approach to the faith.

A qualified candidate is a Roman Catholic, in good standing, with an advance degree in theology or catechetics and at least 3 years of pastoral experience in teaching and administration in a parish religious education program as a DRE/ CRE or Catechetical leader. Bilingual (spoken and written) in English and Spanish is highly preferred. Effective and professional oral and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to present to small and large groups. Sound knowledge of catechetical methodology, pedagogy and curriculum development in accordance with all Magisterial Documents on Catechesis e.g. Catechism of the Catholic Church, Catechesis In Our Time, General Director for Catechesis, National Catechetical Directory, The Creed of the People of God etc. Candidates must have excellent Excel and social media skills, as well as Microsoft Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
