Thank you to the 10,801 families who supported last year’s Annual Diocesan Appeal, which raised $3,071,292.08. To learn how the funds were used, please visit ADA.AdvancementFoundation.org. Parish business managers and bookkeepers, bulletin editors, webmasters and stewardship committees are encouraged to review the document below which outlines the key dates, promotional plans and materials that will be shipped to parishes.

Catholic Charities of Fort Worth invite you to join us for a one-hour program and tour we call our KNOW Poverty Hour. These are at Catholic Charities of Ft Worth, 249 W Thornhill, Ft Worth, TX 76115. These sessions will allow you to see the work of Catholic Charities firsthand. During this time, you will meet one of the agency’s visionary leaders and some of the great staff. These sessions are NOT fundraisers. They are designed to increase awareness of poverty in our area and engage the community in our efforts to end it.

Respect Life Run

Come and celebrate life! We cordially invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Holy Trinity Catholic School Respect Life 5K Fun Run/Walk and 1K Obstacle race for children under 5 years of age. Holy Trinity Catholic School is partnering with Dallas Athletes Racing and Good Shepherd Catholic Community Respect Life Ministry to coordinate and support the event held at Good Shepard Catholic Parish. In addition to the 5K run/walk, we will feature vendors after the race so participants may learn more about available resources in our community who care deeply about our Respect Life mission. The funds raised will help Holy Trinity Catholic School support educational programs and increase volunteer participation to build awareness about respecting life from every stage of its existence. Memorial Mass For Children

The Annual Memorial Mass For Children Who Died Before Baptism will take place at St. Patrick Cathedral on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00 am. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Maurice Moon. Following mass, there will be a reception and light lunch in the parish hall. The intention of this Mass is to help the healing process for parents who have lost children before Baptism, through miscarriage, still birth, or abortion. Roses will be provided for those parents who wish to place them at the Virgin Mary’s altar in memory of their children. Reservations are requested but not required. Parish Stewardship Day
October 17 – RSVP Now!
Pastors, parish staff members, parish stewardship committee members, catechists and volunteers are invited to attend the Diocese of Fort Worth Parish Stewardship Day sponsored by The Advancement Foundation and presented by Tracy Earl Welliver, author of Everyday Stewardship. The event is on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Grapevine.
Morning presentations include “Living as an Everyday Steward” and “Becoming the YOU that God Created.” Afternoon sessions include interactive work in small groups to surface practical ideas to take back to your parish. Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS, is a Catholic author, speaker, teacher, blogger, and stewardship coach with over twenty years’ experience in parish ministry. He is currently the Director of Parish Community and Engagement for Liturgical Publications.

Cana Marriage Retreat

The Office of Marriage and Family Life is excited to announce a new approved Apostolate for marriage enrichment. Cana Marriage Retreats has generously offered to host one-day Cana Commandments retreat in English that will allow you to discover how God’s gift of the Ten Commandments applies to your individual and marriage life. The retreat, held at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish, is designed for couples but pastors and parish/diocesan staff are invited to attend. Register now! Only $20 per couple or $10 per person.
Come and See Weekend
Vocations Weekend Retreat, November 8-10, 2019
The Fall 2019 Come & See Weekend will take place at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA. This vocations weekend retreat is scheduled for November 8-10, 2019 for young men 16 years and older who are in high school and college of the diocese of Fort Worth. Please invite young men to experience what life is like at St. Joseph’s Seminary with others who are discerning a call to the priesthood. Reserve your spot today by October 31, 2019.
