Hurricane Harvey Relief
The Diocese of Fort Worth and Catholic Charities Fort Worth are providing spiritual and material assistance to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Bishop Michael Olson has asked Catholic Charities to take the lead in coordinating assistance.
Senate Bill 4
Senate Bill 4, commonly known as the sanctuary city law, goes into effective Friday, September 1, barring any last minute court orders.
Bishop Michael Olson reminds priests, deacons, parish staff, school staff and other to be pastoral with any members of your congregation who are concerned for themselves and their loved one, who do not understand the new law or who are seeking assistance.
Having copies of the “Understand SB 4” bulletin which each parish inserted into the bulletin in July and a rights card may be helpful to parishioners who come in with concerns. The bulletin insert in English and Spanish, as well as the rights card, are below, in the bulletin insert section. The bulletin insert has information on how to contact Catholic Charities of Fort Worth Immigration Services for help.

Revisions to 2018-2019 Special Collection Calendar
The Special Collection Dates for 2018 have been modified to allow the Diocese of Fort Worth to participate in the national collection for the Solidarity Fund for Africa. According to a statement from the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops, “The critical challenges and enormous potential facing Africa today serve as the opportunity for--and test of--our mutual solidarity. Our response to this vocation of solidarity with the Church and peoples of Africa enables us to express love 'in deed and in truth' (1 John 3:18), a love that creates no borders and sets no limits to what might be accomplished together in Christ."
