The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC is the national university of the Catholic Church. It is charged with educating the future leaders of the Church, both lay and religious, to go out and serve our nation and the world. Catholic Charities of Fort Worth invite you to join us for a one-hour program and tour we call our KNOW Poverty Hour. These are at Catholic Charities of Ft Worth, 249 W Thornhill Ft Worth, TX 76115. These sessions will allow you to see the work of Catholic Charities firsthand. During this time, you will meet one of the agency’s visionary leaders and some of the great staff. These sessions are NOT fundraisers. They are designed to increase awareness of poverty in our area and engage the community in our efforts to end it.

Sidewalk Advocates for Life Training

Would you like to learn how to help women in unplanned, crisis pregnancies choose life at the abortion center? Sidewalk Advocates for Life offers a peaceful, prayerful, law-abiding sidewalk advocacy method that seeks to reach that woman's heart and fill her needs so she can confidently choose life! Parish Stewardship Day
October 17 – RSVP Now!
Pastors, parish staff members, parish stewardship committee members, catechists and volunteers are invited to attend the Diocese of Fort Worth Parish Stewardship Day sponsored by The Advancement Foundation and presented by Tracy Earl Welliver, author of Everyday Stewardship. The event is on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Grapevine.
Morning presentations include “Living as an Everyday Steward” and “Becoming the YOU that God Created.” Afternoon sessions include interactive work in small groups to surface practical ideas to take back to your parish. Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS, is a Catholic author, speaker, teacher, blogger, and stewardship coach with over twenty years’ experience in parish ministry. He is currently the Director of Parish Community and Engagement for Liturgical Publications.

Please make a note of these important dates for the 50th Anniversary Annual Diocesan Appeal The Eucharist Makes Us The Church:
- September 14-15: Announcement Weekend in All Parishes
- September 19: North Texas Giving Day
- September 21-22: Commitment Sunday in All Parishes
- September 28-29: Follow Up Weekend in All Parishes
In mid-August, families that donated to the 2019 Annual Diocesan Appeal will receive a personalized mailing with a report on the 2019 campaign, including which parishes, schools and ministries received funding. This information will also be available on the web and in the September/October issue of North Texas Catholic. To better serve potential candidates for diocesan jobs, the e-Bulletin “Diocesan Employment Opportunities” has been streamlined into categories with links to the diocesan website that features comprehensive information about each job and a link to an application. The employment opportunities are broken into three categories: Catholic Center, parishes and schools. Click on a category to go to the diocesan web site to view all available jobs.
