Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa
July 8-9, 2023
For the first time since 2020, the Diocese of Fort Worth will take up our collection for the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa. The Church in Africa is joyous and faith-filled, but it also has unique pastoral challenges due to poverty, high rates of disease, food shortages and migration. Our contributions support Catholic education, family life programs and child protection initiatives that help strengthen and build the growing African Church. Please promote within your parish with the documents and images below or at bit.ly/2023SpecialCollections.
High School Discernment Retreat, July 17, 2023
While in years past, the Quo Vadis retreat has focused primarily on discernment to the priesthood, this years’ retreat will cover more specifically what it means to grow into a Catholic Man in today’s world. The retreat will involve talks from seminarians and priests, mass and adoration, as well as time for games and sports. Young men will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the following topics:
- Learning to pray well.
- Learning the importance of sacrifice, suffering and fortitude.
- Growth in virtue and discipline.
If you are a high school man looking to grow in these areas, while also getting to know our seminarians and priests, please come to this retreat.
Registration is now open. For more information please contact the or by calling 817-945-9321.
Aging with Grace
A Catholic workshop for empty nesters, retirees, caregivers and their loved ones
As we age or care for aging parents, we often wonder what the Church teaches about ethical medical decisions, the sanctity of life and preparing documents, such as advance directives or a will. This event, sponsored by the Advancement Foundation, St. Thomas More Society and the Respect Life Office, will help answer those questions and provide guidance. Retirees, caregivers, and other loved ones are welcome to join us on Tuesday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 6150 Pershing Ave., Fort Worth 76107.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter
Worldwide Marriage Encounter has expanded to offer the experience during the week for those who cannot commit to a weekend. This is great for priests who cannot get away as easily. It’s called a 3RE and spans several weeks with sessions twice a week. Information can be found on the WWME.org website. WWME is still offering “virtual” experiences so couples can benefit from a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend without the risks of in person gatherings. One of the benefits of this approach is that those attending do not have to live close to a central location.
Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.
