Send Us Holy Week/Easter Mass Times

Parish Priests, Administrators and Business Managers

We would like to ask for your help in compiling the Easter Mass times for our 90 Diocesan parishes. Much like we did at Christmas, we want to make it as easy as possible for the faithful to find and attend Holy Week and Easter Masses.

As Holy Week fast approaches, we would like to kindly ask you to send us your Mass times, location, and offered language to the Diocesan Website Coordinators below, no later than Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Thank you for your help.

Come and See Weekend

Vocations Weekend Retreat, April 12-14, 2019

The Spring 2019 Come & See Weekend will take place at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA. This vocations weekend retreat is scheduled for April 12-14, 2019 for young men 16 years and older who are in high school and college.

Please invite young men to experience what life is like at St. Joseph’s Seminary with others who are discerning a call to the priesthood. Reserve your spot today by April 3, 2019.

Good Friday Special Collection

For the Holy Land, April 19, 2019

Each year on Good Friday we have an opportunity to stand in solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land by supporting the Pontifical Good Friday Collection. This annual collection assists Catholics in the Holy Land with ministries in parishes, Catholic education and faith formation, humanitarian aid to refugees and preservation of the sacred shrines. Please be generous in your promotion and support of this vital special collection. Contact the Advancement Foundation if you have any questions or need additional information.

Bioethics & End of Life Conference

Saturday, April 27, 2019

The Dignity of each Human Person must be defended. It is being attacked in the courts as well as at the bedside. Please join us for a conference that will dive into concerns surrounding bioethics, euthanasia and more. All are welcome to join us for this event.

The Bioethics & End of Life Conference will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Great Hall of St. Bartholomew Parish from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. followed by Holy Mass at 4:30 pm.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter

The Diocese’s program to building better marriage is coordinated by Worldwide Marriage Encounter.

Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.

Parish Operating Grants

Application Deadline is May 1, 2019

Thanks to the generosity of the donors to the Annual Diocesan Appeal, the Advancement Foundation provides generous Operating Grants to parishes each year. In 2018-19, $753,727 was awarded to 28 parishes. Small, rural or needy parishes in need of additional support to meet their operating expenses are invited to apply for a grant by May 1. Applications will be reviewed by the Diocesan Pastoral Finance Committee and approved by the Board of Directors of the Advancement Foundation. All applicants will be notified by letter prior to June 30, 2019. Grants will be disbursed in twelve (12) equal payments beginning July 1.

Introduction to Doctrine

Saturday, May 18, 2019

The Department of Catechesis invites all to attend Introduction to Doctrine: An Analysis of Lumen Gentium, Vatican II’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Bedford from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration cost is $20. Please register to this event by May 3rd.

Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds and mutual funds, directly to the Advancement Foundation. Compared with donating cash or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction. By donating appreciated assets directly to the Advancement Foundation, you allow the Church to receive the full pretax value of those appreciated assets. Remember the Annual Diocesan Appeal in Your Lenten Almsgiving

Please join the 10,566 families that have pledged more than $2.7 million to the Annual Diocesan Appeal this year. Because of their generosity, the Diocese of Fort Worth will be able to financially support our seminarians, retired and infirm priests, rural and needy parishes, correctional ministry, marriage and family life ministry, Catholic schools, Campus ministry programs, permanent deacons and those served by Catholic Charities.
