The Diocese’s program to building better marriage is coordinated by Worldwide Marriage Encounter.
Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.
Parish and School Operating Grants
Application Deadline is May 1, 2019
Parish Operating Grants
Thanks to the generosity of the donors to the Annual Diocesan Appeal, the Advancement Foundation provides generous Operating Grants to parishes each year. In 2018-19, $753,727 was awarded to 28 parishes. Small, rural or needy parishes in need of additional support to meet their operating expenses are invited to apply for a grant by May 1. Applications will be reviewed by the Diocesan Pastoral Finance Committee and approved by the Board of Directors of the Advancement Foundation. All applicants will be notified by letter prior to June 30, 2019. Grants will be disbursed in twelve (12) equal payments beginning July 1.
School Operating Grants
Thanks to the generosity of the donors to the Annual Diocesan Appeal, the Advancement Foundation provides generous grants to Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth each year. Below is the application form for grants to schools in need of additional support to meet their operating expenses. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Diocesan Pastoral Finance Committee and approved by the Board of Directors of the Advancement Foundation. All applicants will be notified by letter prior to June 30, 2019. Grants will be disbursed in twelve (12) equal payments beginning July 1, 2019.

St. Andrew’s Breakfast

The last St. Andrew's Breakfast for the Spring will be on Saturday morning May 11, 2019 at St. Patrick Cathedral at 8:00 AM. The day will begin with Mass at the Cathedral followed by breakfast in the Cathedral Annex Building. We encourage young men in high school and college to attend. The Department of Catechesis invites all to attend Introduction to Doctrine: An Analysis of Lumen Gentium, Vatican II’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Bedford from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration cost is $20. Please register to this event by May 3rd.
Quo Vadis Discernment Retreat
June 4-6, 2019
We want to welcome all young men considering priesthood to Quo Vadis High School Discernment Retreat. This event will be held at Montserrat Jesuit Retreat House on 600 Shady Shores Rd., Lake Dallas, TX 75065. Parents are invited to join in for Mass and closing on the evening on June 6, 2019.

*Note: those young men who are 18 years old and still in high school prior to the retreat will need to complete a safe environment awareness session prior to attending.
Vocations Awareness Program
University of Dallas, Irving, June 7-9, 2019
The Vocation Awareness Program is a weekend of discernment offered for single, Catholic, men and women, between the ages of 18 and 40, who wish to progress towards a religious vocation, such as Priests, Sisters, Consecrated Lay Women, or Brothers. The 2019 weekend activities will be led by the Vocation Directors/Liaisons of the Dallas and Fort Worth Dioceses, supported by a staff of priests, sisters, and other religious. The VAP weekend includes presentations, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, one-on-one personal conferences with diocesan and order Priests, Sisters, Consecrated Lay Women, and Brothers who volunteer to serve as staff. There are no fees, private rooms and meals are furnished, and no one will pressure you or seek commitment. Stewardship Formation Summit
June 14-16, 2019 in Wichita, KS
Participants will learn the relationship between discipleship, stewardship, and evangelization and understand stewardship in terms of the lay apostolate, as taught in the documents of Vatican II. The summit will outline the characteristics of a steward, a stewardship parish, and how accountability functions in the relation of the two.

Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds and mutual funds, directly to the Advancement Foundation. Compared with donating cash or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction. By donating appreciated assets directly to the Advancement Foundation, you allow the Church to receive the full pretax value of those appreciated assets. Please join the 10,566 families that have pledged more than $2.7 million to the Annual Diocesan Appeal this year.
