Catholic Home Missions Appeal

April 25-26, 2020

The Diocese of Fort Worth will take up the Catholic Home Missions Appeal to help strengthen the Church at home on April 25-26, 2020. But what is a Home Mission Diocese? These are dioceses in the United States, its territories and former territories, that require outside assistance to provide basic pastoral services to Catholics. These services include Mass and the sacraments, and religious education and ministry training for priests, deacons, religious sisters and the laity. Right now, more than 40 percent of dioceses in the U.S. are considered mission dioceses, including nine dioceses in the state of Texas. Due to shelter in place requirements, we ask that you rely primarily on the social media toolkit in the attached document and encourage your parishioners to participate using envelopes, your online giving portal or by texting CHMA to 91999.

If you have any questions about this special collection, please contact , Associate Director of the Advancement Foundation.

Effective Immediately, due to the current “stay at home” orders issued for Tarrant County and the City of Fort Worth all physically scheduled Marriage Preparation classes are postponed. We will offer online marriage preparation option in the interim to assist all couples preparing for the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Since these classes will be smaller, we ask that those couples getting married after July 2020, please wait to register until we are able to service the couples who have already signed up. Please check the Diocese’s website for further instructions at www.fwdioc.org/marriage-family-life.
