Lenten Resources from CRS for Parishes and Schools

In conjunction with our upcoming Lenten special collection for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the CRS Rice Bowl program in our parishes and schools, CRS offers an abundance of resources to help your communities plan and implement Lent and Easter programs, even in a virtual/hybrid world. All of those resources may be found at www.crsricebowl.org. In particular, please note the Reflections for Lent and Easter in English and Spanish below with links to brief video homilies for every Sunday during the Lent and Easter season. These can be a great way to thank your communities for participating in CRS Rice Bowl and sharing with them how their participation makes a difference. These homilies can also be sent as links on social media, posted on your website, or used as reflections for small-faith sharing groups with the attached Discussion Questions for Lenten Homilies. Finally, included in this resource are reflections on the scrutinies which can be used with RCIA groups. In addition to the videos, CRS Global Fellows are available to give virtual presentations to various groups. Worldwide Marriage Encounter

February 2021

Worldwide Marriage Encounter has expanded to offer the experience during the week for those who cannot commit to a weekend. This is great for priests who cannot get away as easily. It’s called a 3RE and spans several weeks with sessions twice a week. Information can be found on the WWME.org website. WWME is still offering “virtual” experiences so couples can benefit from a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend without the risks of in person gatherings. One of the benefits of this approach is that those attending do not have to live close to a central location.

Attached is a WORD document with bulletin announcements in English as well as in Spanish. Additionally, there are .jpeg images, one for each Sunday in the month that can be placed into the weekly parish bulletins. Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.
