Retirement Fund for Religious
December 8-9, 2018
Catholics in the Diocese of Fort Worth have the opportunity on December 8-9 to “give to those who have given a lifetime” by donating to the Retirement Fund for Religious. This annual National Collection provides retirement assistance to 32,000 religious brothers and sisters across our nation. Additionally, the Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur, who so generously serve our Diocese, directly benefit from this special collection. Please give generously.

50th Anniversary Book Signing Friday, December 21, 2018
Bishop Michael F. Olson is hosting a book signing for Beyond the Frontiers of Faith, a celebration of the 500 year journey of faith that led to the creation of the Diocese of Fort Worth. All are welcome to attend and should bring a pre-purchased copy of the book to St. Patrick Cathedral Parish Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We request your RSVP to or by calling 817.945.9443.
Mass for Peace and Justice
Everyone is invited to the 33rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Mass scheduled for Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at 6:00 pm. The Mass, with reception following, will be at St. Michael Catholic Church. The topics of conversation will get you mind thinking about historical criticism and the defense against modern scholarship. Sign Language Classes
The Diocese Deaf Ministry Program is offering Sign Language Classes beginning on January 10, 2019 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. The 10 week course will give students an interactive experience in sign language including small group and hands on activities. Students will learn basic vocabulary, rules of grammar and cultural aspects of the deaf community and the history of American Sign Language. See flyer below.

The Department of Catechesis invites all those involved in the ministries of RCIA and RCIA Adapted for Children to attend our annual RCIA Formation Day on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Patrick Cathedral. Our central theme is “The Period of the Catechumenate.” The day will consist of keynote talks as well as a number of workshops in English and Spanish. Breakfast and lunch will be served. As more and more of our parishioners reach age 70-1/2, giving to charity through an IRA Rollover and receiving tax benefits becomes a very appealing option. See below for a new marketing piece/form and a bulletin announcement to promote IRA charitable distributions in parishes and schools. This is a writable PDF, so you may post it on your parish website or email it to those who inquire about supporting your parish, Catholic school or the Diocese of Fort Worth through a required minimum distribution from an IRA.
