Campaign for Human Development
(CCHD) Special Collection, November 23-24, 2019
Through this collection, we stand in solidarity with the poor and support them as they work to break the cycle of poverty and transform their communities. CCHD offers a hand up, not a hand out. Please remember that 25 percent of the funds collected remain in the Diocese of Fort Worth to fund local anti-poverty efforts.
Please read the attached letter from Bishop Olson at all Masses the weekend before the collection (November 16-17).

Deaf Ministry Program
Basic Sign Language Course
The 11- week course will give students’ an interactive experience in sign language including small group and hands on activities. Students will learn basic vocabulary, rules of grammar and cultural aspects of the deaf community in addition to the history of American Sign Language. Please register by December 11, 2019. Retirement Fund for Religious
National Collection December 14-15, 2019
Catholics in the Diocese of Fort Worth have the opportunity to “give to those who have given a lifetime” as part of the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious, to be held in parishes Dec. 14-15, 2019. Coordinated by the National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) in Washington, D.C., the annual appeal benefits 30,000 elderly Catholic sisters, brothers and religious order priests whose religious congregations lack adequate retirement funding. Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth, Inc. has been working with the Stand Together Foundation as a Catalyst Partner. Stand Together has issued a $10 million fund matching program which will expire at the end of 2019. This program will match dollar for dollar up to the first $1,000 of each individual donation. Catholic Charities of Fort Worth invite you to join us for a one-hour program and tour we call our KNOW Poverty Hour. These are at Catholic Charities of Ft Worth, 249 W Thornhill, Ft Worth, TX 76115. These sessions will allow you to see the work of Catholic Charities firsthand. During this time, you will meet one of the agency’s visionary leaders and some of the great staff. These sessions are NOT fundraisers. They are designed to increase awareness of poverty in our area and engage the community in our efforts to end it.
