Facebook update affecting who manages parish and school facebook pages

Atten: Social Media Managers
Facebook has updated all business pages to the “New Page Experience,” which will affect our parish and school Facebook sites. This update has changed the roles for managing business pages. Under New Page Experience, an individual can be assigned Full Facebook Access, Partial Facebook Access, Content Task Access, Messages and Community Activity Task Access, Insights Task Access, or Ads Task Access. An explanation of each role is provided below. Each parish and school should review the page roles for their respective Facebook page and adjust assignments as appropriate.

Bishop Olson featured in “The Chair” Series

The Diocese of Fort Worth, St. Patrick Cathedral, and Most Reverend Michael Olson featured in “The Chair” series by DeSales Media

The Diocese of Fort Worth episode of “The Chair” focuses on the Diocese, St. Patrick Cathedral, and the ministry of Bishop Michael Olson, the fourth bishop of the Diocese. The series takes as its starting point a chair: specifically, the bishop’s chair, known as the cathedra — from which we get the name “cathedral.” The bishop’s chair is the symbolic heart of the diocese, representing the bishop’s authority to sanctify, preach, and govern as a true successor of the Apostles. This 85-episode series celebrates the best of Catholicism in the U.S., from the physical beauty of our cathedral to the Holy beauty of the bishops.

Attention Parishes and E-Bulletin administrators: Please consider a parish bulletin announcement attached that directs the faithful to the episode. Or insert the attached flyer into the bulletin or post is to your bulletin board.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter

December 2022

Worldwide Marriage Encounter has expanded to offer the experience during the week for those who cannot commit to a weekend. This is great for priests who cannot get away as easily. It’s called a 3RE and spans several weeks with sessions twice a week. Information can be found on the WWME.org website. WWME is still offering “virtual” experiences so couples can benefit from a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend without the risks of in person gatherings. One of the benefits of this approach is that those attending do not have to live close to a central location.

Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.
