Memorial Mass For Children

Saturday, October 12, 2019

The Annual Memorial Mass For Children Who Died Before Baptism will take place at St. Patrick Cathedral on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00 am. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Maurice Moon. Following mass, there will be a reception and light lunch in the parish hall. The intention of this Mass is to help the healing process for parents who have lost children before Baptism, through miscarriage, still birth, or abortion. Roses will be provided for those parents who wish to place them at the Virgin Mary’s altar in memory of their children. Reservations are requested but not required. Parish Stewardship Day

October 17 – RSVP Now!

Pastors, parish staff members, parish stewardship committee members, catechists and volunteers are invited to attend the Diocese of Fort Worth Parish Stewardship Day sponsored by The Advancement Foundation and presented by Tracy Earl Welliver, author of Everyday Stewardship. The event is on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Grapevine.

Morning presentations include “Living as an Everyday Steward” and “Becoming the YOU that God Created.” Afternoon sessions include interactive work in small groups to surface practical ideas to take back to your parish. Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS, is a Catholic author, speaker, teacher, blogger, and stewardship coach with over twenty years’ experience in parish ministry. He is currently the Director of Parish Community and Engagement for Liturgical Publications.

Extraordinary Mission Month

World Mission Sunday Special Collection October 19-20, 2019

“Baptized and Sent”
Pope Francis has set October 2019 as an Extraordinary Missionary Month (EMM) to foster greater awareness of "missio ad gentes" (mission to all peoples) and to animate the missionary transformation of Church life and pastoral activity. World Mission Sunday (WMS) will be celebrated in this EMM on October 20.

El Papa Francisco estableció el mes de octubre de 2019 como un Mes Misionero Extraordinario (MME) para fomentar una mayor conciencia de "missio ad gentes" (misión a todos los pueblos) y para animar la transformación misionera de la vida de la Iglesia y la actividad pastoral. St. Andrew Breakfast

October 19, 2019

Please invite high school and college young men to make plans to attend the first St. Andrew Breakfast of the fall on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The day will begin with Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral followed by breakfast in the Cathedral Annex Building. This will be a time of prayer, meal, and discussion. We encourage young men in high school and college of the diocese of Fort Worth to attend. RSVP by October 17th to the Vocations Office at or by calling 817-945-9321.

KNOW Poverty

Hour Schedule

Catholic Charities of Fort Worth invite you to join us for a one-hour program and tour we call our KNOW Poverty Hour. These are at Catholic Charities of Ft Worth, 249 W Thornhill, Ft Worth, TX 76115. These sessions will allow you to see the work of Catholic Charities firsthand. During this time, you will meet one of the agency’s visionary leaders and some of the great staff. These sessions are NOT fundraisers. They are designed to increase awareness of poverty in our area and engage the community in our efforts to end it.

The USCCB Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities has great resources each year for parishes to use, including homily helps, pro-life intercessions, bulletin inserts, and much more! Annual Diocesan Appeal

Thank you for your outstanding response to the 2020 Annual Diocesan Appeal. Please continue to provide commitment forms in your pews, brochure racks and newcomer packets to those families who have not yet made a commitment. Business managers: please be sure to return Annual Diocesan Appeal envelopes to the Advancement Foundation using the white Tyvek envelopes provided for this purpose.

During October, the Annual Diocesan Appeal will focus on its support of the permanent diaconate. For more information, refer to the attached document.

Cana Marriage Retreat

The Office of Marriage and Family Life is excited to announce a new approved Apostolate for marriage enrichment. Cana Marriage Retreats has generously offered to host one-day Cana Commandments retreat in English that will allow you to discover how God’s gift of the Ten Commandments applies to your individual and marriage life. The Fall 2019 Come & See Weekend will take place at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA.
