Catholics Care. Catholics Vote.
Pastoral Letter to All Priests, Deacons, Seminarians, Religious Men and Women, and Faithful Laity
The staffs of diocesan web site and the North Texas Catholic News Magazine have created a variety of resources to assist Catholics in the Diocese of Fort Worth in using Catholic Social Teaching in determining who to vote for in the upcoming elections. The resources include excellent columns by Bishop Olson.
Please consider placing the information below in your parish bulletins, on the parish and school web sites or distribute in another manner that you employ. The election is November 3, with early voting began, Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Verify Your Parish Information
Due to the pandemic, many changes have occurred in our parishes out of necessity and precaution. As a result, Mass schedules, emails and phone numbers may have changed. On the Diocesan website, information is maintained for each parish on the Parish Finder and Online Directory, which serve as resources for the general public.

World Mission Sunday
Here I am, Send Me, October 17-28, 2020
In his message for World Mission Sunday this year, Pope Francis asks us to respond to our baptismal call to mission by saying, “Here I Am, Send Me.” This is the mission that all Christians have received, and God gives us the grace to live it out wherever we may be. As we pray and respond on World Mission Sunday here at home, we share in those celebrations taking place in every parish and school throughout the world. Together, through our prayers and financial support, we bring the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions. Please donate generously to this collection in your parish or online at https://bit.ly/DioceseSpecialCollections.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter
We have some great news! In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, WWME is offering “virtual” experiences so couples can benefit from a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend without the risks of in person gatherings. One of the benefits of this approach is that those attending do not have to live close to a central location. The next weekend is November 13-15th.
After 50 years of presenting WWME weekends in the United States and longer in some other countries, WWME has adopted a new logo! We hope our new look takes us forward the next 50 years! We are overwhelmed when we think of all the marriages that have been strengthened throughout the world during this time! Did you know that the priest who introduced WWME into Poland is now known as St. John-Paul II?
May God bless you for your help in reaching out to married couples, priests, and religious about Worldwide Marriage Encounter. We appreciate you printing the announcements as often as possible to encourage couples to invest in their relationships.
Attached is a WORD document with bulletin announcements in English as well as in Spanish. Additionally, there are .jpeg images, one for each Sunday in the month that can be placed into the weekly parish bulletins. Information from Worldwide Marriage Encounter coordinators is available for parishes to inform couples of upcoming Encounter events. Feel free to include this valuable information in your bulletins.
