Lights, Catholic, Action! S2 Ep. 20: Forming Disciples, Not Just Students
Dr. Melissa Millard, Ed.D. shares how her journey from public-school educator to diocesan leader led her to champion Catholic schools as places that form joyful disciples—not just strong students—by weaving faith into every moment of the day. In her new advancement role, she’s focused on growing enrollment and funding (especially tuition support and safety) so more North Texas families can access Catholic education and “set the world on fire."

Stewardship at Your Parish
The new year is upon us and many of your parishioners probably have a refreshed interest in being engaged—do you have those opportunities available? Below are some examples that will make an impact with your folks:
- Plan a parish-wide service project—volunteer as a group at a local food pantry, ask for help in doing a deep cleaning of the church, or start an ongoing project of making sandwiches for the local homeless shelter.
- If you do not already have a Lenten soup night or fish fry, seek out ministries or individual volunteers to plan at least one during Lent. This is both a service and hospitality opportunity!
- Are you seeing lots of young families in the pews? Schedule a family-friendly holy hour and/or stations of the cross.
A stewardship committee can spearhead many of the tasks listed above and much more. Contact Patricia Gonzalez or call 817-886-6607 to discuss how to refresh or create a committee at your parish!

Special Collection Calendars
Throughout the year, parishes throughout the Diocese of Fort Worth take up special collections to support the work of Christ in our Diocese, in the United States and throughout the world. One hundred percent of four special collections each year stay in the Diocese of Fort Worth. These collections support our future priests, retired priests and the poor and vulnerable in our communities. Please give generously when these collections are announced in your parish.
When ordering offertory envelopes, please consider working with your parish communication committee to design unique envelopes for your parish, building fund, and even special collections. With written permission from your pastor, the Advancement Foundation is happy to provide envelope designs.
