Bishop Michael Olson
Statement of Bishop Michael Olson Regarding Disruption of Certification of Presidential Election at U.S. Capitol
January 6, 2021
The disruptive and illegal actions of those who trespassed into the U.S. Capitol today during the certification process of the presidential election were outrageous and painful to witness as a bishop and as a citizen of the United States of America.
A peaceful republic requires safety and security in accord with the legitimate rule of law to foster the confidence of citizens in the electoral system and process. These outrageous actions undermined that safety and security. Click link below to read full statement.

Church in Latin America Special Collection
January 23-24, 2021
For many living in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers make it difficult for people to practice the faith. Your donations fund catechesis, marriage and family life programs, and seminarian formation so people can grow closer to Christ. In addition to the Sunday collection during weekend Masses on January 23-24, donations can also be made through your parish online giving portal or https://bit.ly/DioceseSpecialCollections. Please use the files attached (including the letter from Bishop Olson to be read at all Masses on January 16-17) to promote a generous response to this special collection.

One of the benefits of this approach is that those attending do not have to live close to a central location.
May God bless you for your help in reaching out to married couples, priests, and religious about Worldwide Marriage Encounter. We appreciate you printing the announcements as often as possible to encourage couples to invest in their relationships.
