e-Bulletin is Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth’s electronic newsletter to communicate news and information from the Diocese, its departments and its ministries to diocesan, parish and school employees as well as select volunteers. Diocesan department directors are responsible for generating information for e-Bulletin and ensuring that the content is within diocesan rules and policies.

Special Collection to support completion of the Trinity Dome at America's Catholic Church, May 14

The completion of the Trinity Dome, in preparation for the 100th  anniversary of the placing of the foundation stone of the National Shrine in 2020, is a monumental undertaking for which the Bishops of the United States, including Most Rev. Michael F. Olson, STD, MA, have approved a special one-time collection to take place in-pew on Mother’s Day 2017. For more information click here

The 2017-2018 Diocesan Directory is available on the diocesan web site at www.fwdioc.org. 

An on-line directory will allow the information to be kept up-to-date and available on all electronic devices, from desktop computers to tablets and smartphones. The directory is in digital book form at http://directory.fwdioc.org. To search for the directory on the diocesan home page, go to the "Diocese" tab and in drop down box click on "diocesan offices." A hotline button will appear on that page to the digital directory.

Save the Date: JPII Summer Ministry Conference, June 10-22

INTRODUCING FR. ALBERT HAASE, OFM, JP2 SUMMER MINISTRY CONFERENCE LECTURER

Fr. Albert Haase, OFM, this year’s lecturer for the St. John Paul II Institute’s Summer Ministry Conference, is a former Chinese missionary, an itinerant preacher, and an experienced spiritual director.  He has authored books and has CDs and DVDs on the market. He even earned a Ph.D. in historical theology from Fordham University. What is more, Fr. Haase has an engaging preaching style with a delightful sense of humor.  

You will not want to miss any of his four-part lecture series: “True Self – False Self: Growth in the Spiritual Life.”  The lectures will take place at Good Shepherd Church, Colleyville, June 12-15, each night beginning at 7 p.m. There will be no admission fee.

Guarden estas fechas: Conferencia de Ministerio de JPII, 10-22 de Junio

PRESENTANDO AL PADRE GERARDO GUERRA-MAYAUDON, O.P., ORADOR DE LA CONFERENCIA DE MINISTERIO DE VERANO DEL INSTITUTO SAN JUAN PABLO II

El Padre Gerardo Guerra-Mayaudon, O.P., es algo de genio.  Tiene su doctorado en la ciencia y su maestría en la teología.  Ahora pasa mucho tiempo en México donde da charlas sobre la espiritualidad y la naturaleza.  Vendrá a Fort Worth en junio para presentar los discursos de la Conferencia de Ministerio de Verano que organiza el Instituto San Juan Pablo II.

Aunque es de México y trabaja mucho en México, el padre Guerra reside cerca Fort Worth.  Pues por muchos años ha sido miembro de la comunidad de dominicos en Austin, Texas.  Allá ha montado una pastoral con inmigrantes.

El padre Guerra hablará acerca de la encíclica del papa Francisco Laudato Sí.  Va a demostrar cómo se puede seguir la sabiduría de la obra para el bien del universo. No se quiere faltar ninguna parte de las tres presentaciones. Comenzará el martes, 20 de junio, y seguirá el miércoles y jueves, 21 y 22 del mes.  Todas las charlas tendrán lugar en la parroquia del Inmaculado Corazón de María, en el sur de Fort Worth, de 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.  La entrada es gratis.

St. Junipero Serra Institute

The St. John Paul Institute will transition into the St. Junipero Serra Institute on July 1, 2017 as the diocesan formation ministry to prepare the adult laity to be effective witnesses of the Gospel within their parish communities.

One of the main tenets of the St. Junipero Serra Institute will be to assist the laity in developing and forming a mature faith that is rooted in sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture and affirmed through the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Paola Quintero-Araújo, director of Faith Formation, will serve as the new director of the Institute. She will vacate her Faith Formation position and move into her new role stating on July 1, 2017. Paola’s former positon will be reclassified as director of Elementary (Children’s) Catechesis.

Instituto St. Junípero Serra

El Instituto San Juan Pablo II  estará siendo asumido por el Instituto San Junípero Serra como el ministerio de formación Diocesana para preparar a los laicos adultos para ser testigos efectivos del Evangelio dentro de sus comunidades parroquiales a partir del 1 de Julio, 2017.

Uno de los principales postulados del Instituto San Junípero Serra será ayudar a los laicos en el desarrollo y formación de una fe madura que está enraizada en la Sagrada Escritura y la Sagrada Tradición y afirmada por el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica.

Paola Quintero-Araújo, directora de Formación en la fe,  servirá como la nueva directora del Instituto. Ella abandonara su posición de Formación en la Fe y se incorporara a su muevo papel a partir del 1 de julio, 2017. La posición anterior de Paola será restructurada y reclasificada como Director de Catequesis infantil (primaria)

Marian Dinner and Mass

Marian Dinner & Mass hosted by the Vocation’s Office for women age 15-45 discerning their vocation to Religious Life. The evening will begin with Mass at 6 p.m.  St. Peter the Apostle, 1201 S. Cherry Ln, Fort Worth, followed by dinner and discussion among the women discerning their vocation and Sisters from different Religious Orders. This event is free but you must RSVP by May 25 to Kim Brown, Associate Director of Vocations at or 940-727-8028.

Vocation Awareness Program June 16-18

Is God calling you? The Vocation Awareness Program is a weekend opportunity for you to listen and find out more information about Priesthood and the religious life. The Vocation Awareness Program helps single Catholic men and women, ages 18-40, find answers to questions they may have about life as a Priest, Sister, or Brother. The weekend includes presentations, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, one-on-one personal conferences with diocesan and order Priests, Sisters, and Brothers who volunteer to serve as staff. Texas Catholic Voice

The Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops (TCCB) advocates on behalf of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Texas for policies and programs that support the life and dignity of every human person from conception through natural death. Under the guidance of the Texas Bishops, the TCCB staff conducts policy assessments to evaluate public policy needs and opportunities across the state. The legislative agenda and the bishops' position on bills filed by legislators are result of a rigorous process of reflection and consultation.  Bishops, with assistance from teams of clergy, ministry directors and lay persons, have designated April 4, 2017 as the TCC Advocacy Day at the Legislature. Each member of the Legislature will be visited on April 4 to explain the bishops' legislative agenda.

The Texas Catholic Voice is a publication of the TCCB to keep all Texas Catholics informed of the bishops' public policy efforts, the bishops' position on bills pending before the Legislature and on Advocacy Day.

The St. John Paul II Institute will hold its annual summer ministry conference from June 10-22.  Lecture series speakers are Franciscan Albert Haase and Dominican Gerardo Guerra. Other events of the conference include Saturday ministry workshops. The public is cordially invited. There are no admission fees.
