Camp Fort Worth (CFW)

Camp Fort Worth is a mission trip/summer camp/retreat experience that is co-sponsored by the Office of Youth Ministry and Adolescent Catechesis for the Diocese of Ft. Worth. Camp Fort Worth builds the Kingdom of God while drawing you closer to Him. The Father loves and He sends. He loved the world so much He sent His Son Jesus. Camp Fort Worth is a place where His love, sends YOU!

The camp is not named for the city of Fort Worth, rather it is named for the diocese - because the "Local Church" is the Diocese of Fort Worth and this camp seeks to serve the whole diocese.

Who started Camp Fort Worth?

Jeff Hedglen is the founder and director of Camp Fort Worth. He worked as a parish Youth Minsiter for 25 years and now works for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth as the Campus Minister at UT Arlington and Associate Director of Young Adult Ministry.

Can I Continue to Be Involved in CFW After Attending?

The Alumni Team (A-team) is a group of folks who have already attended camp and want to return as student-leaders. They are folks that really embraced the CFW experience and continue to embody the "Take It Home" challenge by staying involved in their parish youth programs, being a leader at Church, being a shining light of Christ's love at school and work, and striving to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus and his Church through participation in the sacraments, personal prayer, and acts of service. At CFW in the summer the A-team are peer leaders who lead by example as small group leaders, site coordinators and kitchen crew. CFW would not be the same without these passionate, crazy, dedicated servants of Jesus.
