e-Bulletin is Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth’s electronic newsletter to communicate news and information from the Diocese, its departments and its ministries to diocesan, parish and school employees as well as select volunteers. VAP Weekend, June 24-26, 2016

Is God calling you? The Vocation Awareness Program is a weekend opportunity for you to listen and find out more information about Priesthood and the religious life. The Vocation Awareness Program helps single Catholic men and women, ages 18-40, find answers to questions they may have about life as a Priest, Sister, or Brother. The weekend includes presentations, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, one-on-one personal conferences with diocesan and order Priests, Sisters, and Brothers who volunteer to serve as staff. Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner Informational Meeting

Would you like to help guide women and couples to a better understanding their fertility? Would you like to help couples learn a moral way to plan their families?  Do you want to provide real answers and solutions for infertility and health issues?

Please join us for an informational meeting to learn more about the process of becoming a Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner.  Ask questions and discern if this is for you. Diocesan Marriage and Family Life Ministry director Chris Vaughan will be one of the speakers at the session. A Passion to Serve" - St. John Paul II Institute Summer Enrichment Program for everyone

The St. John Paul II Institute is offering a lecture series and a number of workshops in its annual summer program. There is no cost for the workshops if participants preregister by contacting Irma Jimenez (, 817-945-9354).  Without preregistration, a fee of $5 will be asked on the day of the workshop.  The lectures are free for everyone; no pre-registration is required. Descriptions of the speakers and their topics follow:

 

RALPH MCCLOUD LECTURES ON “THE ELECTIONS, THE CHURCH, AND THE POOR”, JUNE 22-24

Ralph McCloud, the director of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, will present this year’s theology lectures for the St. John Paul II Institute (JP2).  Mr. McCloud, a Fort Worth native, has been director of the national Catholic Campaign for Human Development for almost a decade.  McCloud served as diocesan director of Peace and Justice and was a member of Fort Worth’s City Council before moving to Washington, D.C. He will speak on the “The Elections, the Church, and the Poor.”  The lectures will take place at Holy Family Church, 6150 Pershing, Fort Worth, from Wednesday – Friday, June 22-24, at 7 p.m.

 

Theresa Luby’s Workshop on Care at the End of Life, June 11

On Saturday, June 11, 9-11:30 a.m., Ms. Theresa Luby will present a workshop entitled Spiritual Care at the End of Life: Assistance to the Dying and their Loved Ones.  Ms. Luby has been a hospice chaplain for many years and is well-versed in theology and Scripture.  Her workshop will be a valuable introduction to work with the dying and a significant refresher for those who are already involved in the ministry.  The workshop will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church’s Education Building, 201 W. Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth.  Admission is free for all who pre-register (; 817-945-9354). Anne Poplin’s Workshop on Effective Religious Education, June 18

On Saturday, June 18, noon–3 p.m., Ms. Anne Poplin, a retired educator and current RCIA director, will give a workshop entitled “Catechetical Strategies: How to Make Religious Education More Effective.”  The workshop will be especially helpful for catechists looking for ways to help children.  It will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church’s Education Building, 201 W. Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth.  Admission is free for all who pre-register (; 817-945-9354).

 

Paul Crnkovich’s Workshop on the Works of Mercy in the Parish, June 18

On Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Mr. Paul Crnkovich, Director of Parish Relations (Catholic Charities, Fort Worth), will present a workshop entitled “Mercy in Body and Spirit: Expanding Social Ministry.”  Mr. Crnkovich has been working hard to integrate the social ministry of Catholic Charities into regular parish life.  The workshop will take place at the Catholic Charities Building, 249 W. Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth.  Admission is free for all who pre-register (; 817-945-9354).

 


 

UNA PASIÓN PARA SERVIR PROGRAMA DE VERANO PARA TODOS INSTITUTO SAN JUAN PABLO II - 2016

Cada verano el Instituto San Juan Pablo II presenta un programa de charlas y talleres para toda la diócesis.  Todos los eventos son gratis aunque hay un pequeño costo si el participante no registrarse en anticipación para un taller de sábado. El programa se describe a la continuación:

 

LA PROFESORA PÍA SEPTIÉN DARÁ LAS CHARLAS DEL PROGRAMA JP2 DEL VERANO

La profesora Pía Septién presentará cuatro discursos sobre el tema: “el Mal en la Biblia”.  Tendrán lugar desde el 13 al 16 de junio en la parroquia de Todos los Santos, 214 NW 20th St., Fort Worth, a 7 p.m.  Son para todos.  La entrada es gratis. 

La Sra. Septién ha enseñado por muchos años en la Universidad de Dallas.  Su mayor interés es el estudio de la Biblia.  Ha preparado las charlas 1) la creación y el mal (personal, familiar, comunal, social); 2) la enseñanza de Jesús sobre estar dependientes del mal; 3) las actitudes apropiadas de los seguidores de Jesús; y 4) las ayudas espirituales a la disposición de los fieles. ¡Traigan sus Biblias y disfruten de estas charlas!

 

El Padre Hector Magallón, CORC, Presentará Taller sobre la Liturgia, el 11 de Junio

El padre Hector Magallón, CORC, dará un taller titulado “Visión General del Ministerio Litúrgico: Enfoque sobre los Diferentes Servicios de la Misa”.  Se conoce el padre Magallón por su capacidad de articular el misterio de la liturgia.  El taller tendrá lugar el sábado, 11 de junio, 9-11:30 a.m., en el edificio de educación de la Iglesia Inmaculado Corazón de María, 201 Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth (al fondo). El Psicólogo Sergio Váldez-Ocobachi sobre el Matrimonio y la Familia, el 11 de Junio

El psicólogo Sergio Váldez-Ocobachi dará un taller matutino-vespertino titulado “Aspectos Psicológicos del Ministerio Familiar: Cómo Ayudar a las Parejas Enfrentar Dificultades Relacionales y Generacionales”.  Será una oportunidad para aprender modos de ayudar a parroquianos con dificultades matrimoniales y familiares.  El taller tendrá lugar el sábado, 11 de junio, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., en el edificio de educación de la Iglesia Inmaculado Corazón de María, 201 Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth (al fondo). El Autor Richard González sobre César Chávez, el 18 de Junio

El señor Richard González dará un taller titulado “César Chávez, Profeta de la Dignidad Humana: La Importancia de su Vida para el Ministerio Hispano”.  El señor González ha escrito un libro sobre César Chávez, tal vez el más famoso mexicano-americano del siglo veinte. El taller tendrá lugar el sábado, 18 de junio, 9-11:30 a.m., en el edificio de educación de la Iglesia Inmaculado Corazón de María, 201 Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth (al fondo). El Padre Carmelo Mele, O.P., sobre Métodos Efectivos para la Educación Religiosa

El padre Carmelo Mele, O.P., dará un taller titulado “Estrategias Catequéticas: Cómo hacer la Educación Religiosa más Efectiva”.  Se intenta el taller dar ayuda a los catequistas que no tienen mucha experiencia en el aula.  El padre Carmelo es director del Instituto San Juan Pablo II.  El taller tendrá lugar el sábado, 18 de junio, 12:30-3 p.m., en el edificio de educación de la Iglesia Inmaculado Corazón de María, 201 Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth (al fondo). Quo Vadis? Vocations Discernment Retreat, July 6-8, 2016

Quo Vadis? is a Vocation Discernment Retreat for High School Young Men to begin considering their vocation from God by hanging out with priests and seminarians! It will be a spiritually awesome weekend. Venue will be at Lone Oak Retreat Center in Gainesville beginning on July 6, 2016 10:00AM. Parents are welcome to join for Mass and closing of the retreat on July 8, 2016 from 5:00PM- 7:00PM. Space is limited to the first 20 high school young men to register. Nun Run for High School Girls, August 12-14, 2016

This event is FREE and open to all high school girls (9th-12th grade for the 2016-2017 school year) who want to learn about the religious life, discerning their vocation to religious life, or simply want to be open to God’s will in their life. The girls will have the chance to interact with the following groups: Carmelite Nuns, Dominican Sisters, Sisters of Mary of Namur, Kingdom of God Sisters, & the Hermanas Catequistas Guadalupans.
