e-Bulletin is Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth’s electronic newsletter to communicate news and information from the Diocese, its departments and its ministries to diocesan, parish and school employees as well as select volunteers. Diocesan department directors are responsible for generating information for e-Bulletin and ensuring that the content is within diocesan rules and policies.

The next St. Andrew’s Breakfast will be on Saturday May 7, 2016. This event is for men high-school aged to 35 years old. The discernment event begins with Mass at 8:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth and is followed by breakfast at the St. Patrick Cathedral Annex Building. St. John Paul II Institute to host Sacred Music Workshop for Liturgical Ministers

The St. John Paul II Institute will host a workshop on sacred music presented by Fr. Thu Nguyen during its Summer Enrichment Program.

This workshop will instruct participants in the theory and practice of liturgical music with special emphasis on the use of chants at the Eucharist.  It will be given in two sessions on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 28 and June 4 at St. George Parish, 3508 Maurice Ave., Fort Worth.  Those who attend both sessions will be awarded a certificate from the St. John Paul II Institute.

Fr. Nguyen is the pastor of St. George Parish in Fort Worth.  He is currently finishing a master’s degree in liturgical studies from the Liturgical Institute of Mundelein Seminary outside Chicago.

St. John Paul II Institute to offer workshop to Pastoral Ministers on Spiritual Care to the Dying

The St. John Paul II Institute will host a workshop on Spiritual Care to the Dying presented by Ms.Theresa Luby during its Summer Enrichment Program.

This workshop will instruct participants in the theory and practice of preparing the terminally ill and their loved ones for life’s end. It will be given on Saturday, June 11, 9-11:30 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish’s Education Building, 201 Thornhill Dr. Fort Worth.  All are welcome to attend.

Ms. Luby is a chaplain for Community Hospice of Texas.  She has been working with the hospice movement for thirty years. Holding a licentiate degree in biblical theology, she has taught Scripture classes for many years.

St. John Paul II Institute to offer workshop to Social Service Ministers on the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy

The St. John Paul II Institute will host a workshop on the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy presented by Mr. Paul Crnkovich during its Summer Enrichment Program.

The workshop will instruct participants in the theory and practice of the Works of Mercy.  It will be given on Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Catholic Charities 249 W. Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth.  All are welcome to attend.

Mr. Crnkovich works for Catholic Charities as Director of Parish Relations.  He has a bachelor’s degree in theology from  the University of Dallas and is known for his faith-filled, enthusiastic promotion of social outreach.

St. John Paul II Institute to offer workshop to Catechists on Effective Catechesis

The St. John Paul II Institute will host a workshop on Catechetical Strategies: How to Make Religious Education More Effective, offered by Ms. Anne Poplin during its Summer Enrichment Program.

This workshop will instruct participants on effective teaching methods at both the children and adult levels.  It will be given on Saturday, June 18, 12 noon – 3 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish’s Education Building, 201 W. Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth. All are welcome to attend.

Ms. Poplin is a veteran educator from Wichita Falls who has recently retired from the Texas state education system.  She works with the RCIA program at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish and teaches with the St. John Paul II Institute. She is excellent and thorough – not to be missed.

Fiscal Year 2017 Parish Operating Grants

Applications are now being accepted for Fiscal Year 2017 Parish Operating Grants, awarded from the Advancement Foundation as part of the Annual Diocesan Appeal case for support. These grants are available to small, rural or needy parishes within the Diocese of Fort Worth.
