Please include the announcement about the diocesan Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Year of Mercy
Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth’s Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Year of Mercy
As part of the celebration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis has designated March 4 and 5 as “24 Hours for the Lord”.
“The initiative of 24 Hours for the Lord, to be celebrated on the Friday and Saturday preceding the Fourth Week of Lent, should be implemented in every diocese. So many people, including young people, are returning to the Sacrament of Reconciliation; through this experience they are rediscovering a path back to the Lord, living a moment of intense prayer and finding meaning in their lives. Let us place the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the center once more in such a way that it will enable people to touch the grandeur of God’s mercy with their own hands. For every penitent, it will be a source of true interior peace.
In the Diocese of Fort Worth the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Year of Mercy will be offered at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Fort Worth, the principal church for the celebration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Our Mother of Mercy is located at 1001 E. Terrell, Fort Worth.
A number of priests will be available throughout the evening to hear confessions.
Security will be provided during reconciliation service.
The Schedule for Friday, March 4 at Our Mother of Mercy is:
7 p.m. Stations of the Cross followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Individual confessions
1:00 a.m. Benediction
